Easy Proposal Writing Using Sample Business Proposals

There’s not a business on the planet that couldn’t use a new customer. Particularly in the moody economics of this day and age, learn-as-you-go business proposals simply aren’t going to cut it. Forget about improvising and pick up a sample business proposal and use it as a template to create a great business proposal to secure new customers.

First, never underestimate the power of pre-writing. Since this is your first draft and you’re not submitting it to potential customers at this time, relax and try to have fun. Do your pre-writing and figure out what exactly you are going to pitch in this proposal, what goals you have and what will differentiate your services from the other distractions your clients have to weed through every day.

Try organizing your thoughts. Break down any goals you may have into simple steps and take notes on what is needed to make each step safely. Be certain to write each of these steps in such a way as to lead the reader to the inevitable goal you stated during your pre-writing.

The next stage is writing your cover letter. Make it short and simple, at maximum only three paragraphs that declare the main thoughts behind your proposal — for instance, you could write “Our company helps X number of businesses in the region. Our company can help you too by doing x, y, and z for you.” Go ahead and elaborate on any successful stories you may have, but don’t drown your proposal in a lengthy cover letter.

Next, the hard part: actually write your business proposal. Proposals are usually split into five pieces: the executive summary which states what you do and who you are, a statement of work dictating what services you plan to give your client, a list of steps to achieve your goal, a list of reasons why you are better than the next guy, and last but not least the legalese terms of your contract and payment arrangements.

Again, this is only the first draft, so take it easy on yourself and write what you would like your client to know. Imagine your target seated at the table with you. What could you tell them that would convince them to hire you?

Since this is the first draft, quality is not overly crucial at this stage. Realistically, the only thing you need to worry about here is finishing your proposal and fitting your information into the well defined structure of a proposal. If there’s anything you want to change — spelling, grammar, anything else — it can be done later.

Think about your contract terms and pricing. Look into similar companies to your own and see what they charge. If you have to find out you’re overcharging people, it’s best to do so when you’re in front of a computer screen by yourself rather than when you’re sitting down to discuss business with your client.

When you have finished your first draft, you can begin the rewriting stage. Get a friend to read through your proposal so you can find any typo trouble or glaring errors. If there was anything you wanted to change or fix or if you wanted to add another section, do that now before continuing to the final stages.

When you believe you’ve got your proposal in a finished state, try a little role-playing to head off troublesome customers. Why not try putting on your customer’s shoes for a little while? Consider how they’ll see your proposal. Is there anything that might hang them up? Brainstorm as many reasons for the client not to buy from you as possible, and then create counterarguments to squash their anxiety.

Though it’s hard work, writing a business proposal is far from impossible. By taking the time to run through the above steps with your sample business proposal in hand, you’ll save tons of time and deliver a quality piece of work that will satisfy not just clients, but your company also.

Web Writing Traps To Avoid Like The Plague

There are some excellent websites online, with interesting and informative content. Then there is the majority of sites with poorly written text that is hard to absorb. Make sure your blog or website belongs to the first group. Steer clear of these online writing pitfalls:

Number one: creating great long paragraphs that are hard to read. Unless your audience is particularly academic, keep to short chunks of text – about 3 sentences per paragraph is a good rule of thumb. Computer screens make reading hard work – don’t add to the burden.

Secondly, not having enough white space between these paragraphs is a guaranteed turn off for any visitor. You need to space your text out to help people scan the webpage. Rid yourself of the illusion that everyone will pore over your text from start to finish. Many visitors scan webpages to see if the content matches what they are searching for.

Next, some online writers rely on just text alone. Unless you have something earth shattering to say, your website needs images and text boxes to sustain the reader’s interest. Beware of making images too big, or you will create an unbalanced effect.

The next web writing error is at the other end of the spectrum. Building a flashy website with a luminous color scheme and high-tech effects makes concentrating on the text a near impossibility. Pale backgrounds, simple fonts and unfussy design may be less exciting, but far more effective.

A simple color scheme is far more effective. A white or pastel background (such as peach) with black or navy blue text is a safe bet. Use more exciting colors for emphasis, but sparingly. A single word – rather than a whole paragraph – highlighted in red will attract the visitor’s attention.

Lastly, failing to research other sites is a big no-no for any online writer. There are a lot of quality sites out there. When you find one with good writing that is easy to absorb, ask yourself what techniques you can use in your own writing.

The Understanding Of Technical Documentation

The benefits of technical documentation make the difference between competency of a product, and, or inadequacy of manipulation. Every person has a different level of comprehension and it is not an easy task to put all persons on the same page of clarity.

The instruction consists of three areas: That of product, process, and professional orientation. The quality of said instruction is dependent on the source, or person responsible for provision of the documentation. Orientation of the process involves the aspect of quality, with the quality in itself being reliant on the comprehension of the person putting together the documentation. Do not be led astray however, as the person documenting has been trained on this procedure. There are schools that one can attend to learn how to utilize the information passed on by the inventor.

They learn how to effectively take the information from the inventor and document it effectively to a wide audience in understanding the what, and why of a product. The Elements Of Good Suspense Fiction Books

suspense fiction books and what goes into them are part of the art and craft of writing. Certainly, there are a number of effective techniques one can use in order to create a memorable piece of suspense when the techniques are applied consistently and with the right amount of verve and gusto. Actually, suspense differs from mystery in many ways, though they’re sometimes mistakenly intermingled.

For the most part, a mystery story and a suspense story differ when it comes to perspective. What this means is that the approach to storytelling emphasizes how the story is laid out in a suspense piece versus a mystery piece. As an example, consider that a mystery normally starts from an event that has already occurred and works backwards from there to solve who created or did the event or act.

In a suspense story, though, it usually opens with an event or clue or hint that tells the reader that an event which will have already occurred in the case of the mystery is in danger of occurring if the story’s protagonist can’t prevent certain events from taking place that will lead to the big event. This may be a murder which opens a mystery but which MAY happen in suspense, barring other events.

Keep in mind, then, when it comes to suspense stories that the writer should be endeavoring to correctly use viewpoint such that it will supply the reader with the story with an inside view or foresight into what’s going to happen. The reader must be allowed to see the viewpoint of both the protagonist and the antagonist, basically. Give the reader an “up close and personal” look at the action.

Another good element to use when it comes to writing suspense is to put some sort of time constraint on the main characters. Perhaps the protagonist needs to solve a problem that will allow him to find and then disarm a bomb before it explodes. And always make sure that the characters are playing for high stakes. The crisis really needs to be something that impacts the protagonist’s world greatly.

In almost all suspense, there’s a strong element of dilemma contained within. The antagonist will be constantly peppering the protagonist with problems that the protagonist must deal with. And some of the problems must create a “no easy way to win” or a “lose-lose” proposition for the protagonist. It all adds up to pressure on the protagonist, which is another good element to a suspense story.

No suspense story is complete without a dyed-in-the-wool and really snarky villain. In the suspense world the banality of commonplace bad acts really has no place. The villain needs to be carrying out acts or himself be larger than life in many cases. At the opposite end of the spectrum, the hero or protagonist must also be up to the challenge presented by the antagonist. Make him or her larger-than-life.

There are other effective elements that can be insert it into suspense fiction books that can go a long way to making any suspense story really stand out and be memorable. Remember, every story has a beginning, middle and an end and a suspense story will really focus many of the above elements at all points of that story arc if it hopes to be of high enough quality to be read.
